On October 14, 2009, I underwent gastric bypass surgery. It was a drastic step, but I took the risk in order to move forward with a healthier life. One year, two and a half months, and 82 pounds later - my weight loss is REEEEAAAALLLY slow. I am still 18 pounds away from my goal. I know at this point the "honeymoon" is over - and I need to move my tuchas to make it to goal.
Fortunately, I have found a lot of help online. I love the "Lightweight" board at ObesityHelp.com. And, today, I signed up for the "Power of One Challenge" at Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans.
I recorded my weight today. Hopefully, that is the last time I see THAT number :)!
This week's challenge is to record my healthy living goals for the new year...
1. I resolve to EXERCISE MORE
2. I resolve to eat ALL of my protein - 60 to 90 grams a day
3. I resolve to be a good example for my kids
4. I resolve to cut down on the Crystal Light and drink more water
5. I resolve to take all of my vitamins and calcium daily.
There are a lot of "rules" with being a post-gastric bypass patient - I resolve to try to follow "the rules of the pouch" the best I can.
Ok, ready...set...GO!
